TLOs in Science project launched Posted in News, Teaching and Learning on March 28, 2013 by ACDS Web Admin. The publication of the Threshold Learning Outcomes for Science (TLOs) set a new collective benchmark for learning outcomes for science and maths degrees in Australia. This national statement is now a reference point for learning outcomes as described in the new Higher Education Standards. Faculties of Science now need to consider how TLOs will be expressed in their curricula and how evidence for the achievement of threshold standards can be collected. Following its successful national workshop , Advancing the Science TLOs, the ACDS has established a Centre Project to: provide advice to ACDS on the implementation of the HESP standards in science and mathematics construct a 5-year plan for developing the TLOs in course design and assessing learning outcomes. recommend action for the ACDS TL Centre to support the use of Science TLOs in Science faculties. The ACDS intends this project to be the vehicle through which you can shape how the quality system works for university science and mathematics education, and your comments are very welcome (E.Johnson@latrobe.edu.au). More information on the project can be found on the Centre Projects page.
